Trekking

An incredible and various trekking area wait you around the village of Palekastro…

There are many scenic hikes and walks for all levels of fitness.

Gorges, as at Chocklakies and Zakros, caves, like Pelekita, and hidden beaches, like Skinies and Karoumbes are all worth the trip.
Even the short walk up to the top of Petsophas (20 min. on a well-made path) will reward you with a fantastic view and sense of spiritual well-being (the site was the location of a shrine in Minoan times).
And there is always a quiet evening stroll along the beach at Kouramenos…
